Visit the garden of two permaculture teachers -- year 5 of a permaculture design on 1/5 of an acre, with over 100 species of edible or medicinal perennials (our little corner of paradise)! This year, the edible forest garden patches are overflowing: the bushes are currently full of small fruit, the fruit trees are getting bigger (there will be lots of plums for the first time), and some of the herbaceous layer is over-growing some of the younger trees (lots of harvest and chop-and-drop). Our garden features: a new hand-built greenhouse; a small water-catchment feature (swale minus the berm); a hugelkultur bed; sheet-mulched beds; raised annual veggie beds; double-dug beds; hand-made trellises; compost bins from recycled palettes; perennial polycultures for juglone-tolerance, root harvest and spring salads; cold-hardy bamboo, goji, sea kale, groundnut, Maximilian sunflower, beetberry and other interesting plants; small tractors for friends and more!

Agape Gardens is a small scale labour of love located between Perth and Franktown. Originally bought as a devastated piece of land by applying permaculture principles we have designed a flourishing mini oasis, that supplies us with nutrent-dense produce for our micro food business. Our water-harvesting design includes ponds, swales and extensive hugelkultur beds; we have a chicken tractor, greenhouse, shadehouse and more! Come see a very unique property and how permaculture transformed our lives. www.agapegardens.ca.

Directions: From Perth take North St, continue over rail tracks, travel 6 minutes until you come to a bend, Drummond Concession is an offshoot of the main road. If you see VW Scotty's on your left, turn around as you just missed the dirt road off shoot. The land is the third lot on the right with a large shedding the front.
