The work we love is growing! Last year, we were delighted to start collaborating with Just Food and Permaculture Ottawa, and to discover that all three of our permaculture courses and the community permaculture convergence were booked full. We hosted several community events through Transition Perth, including a solar cooker demonstration, a gift bazaar, a veggie garden tour, a fruit propagation workshop and a collaborative communication workshop.

Imagine planning your garden or making decisions for your organisation in a way that puts your time and energy to best use, while creating the outcomes that are most valuable to you. At its simplest, permaculture design can be described as a way of thinking, making decisions and designing things, based on the way nature works.
I've been training a team of four teacher trainers and two agronomists to replicate a 5-day training that I've designed for AMURT called “Creating My Community”. After doing five days of “pre-training” with them, we are now training a larger group of almost 40 participants.
By this time next week, my plan is to have given two 5-day trainings; trained over 40 teacher-trainers, community animators, and agronomists from three organisations and five sites; and coached three teams on their projects using permaculture design. It's been a full few weeks.
